Bioactivity
LR3 IGF-1 is more biologically active and has a longer half-life compared to IGF-1. In LR3 IGF-1 protein, arginine replaces glutamic acid in the third position of IGF-1 sequence, and the N-terminal end is 13 amino acids more than IGF-1. The small difference in amino acid sequence results in lower affinity binding of LR3 IGF-1 to IGF-BPs (BindingProteins) than IGF-1, growing the half-life and biological activity of LR3 IGF-1. The biological activity of LR3 IGF-1, when cultured in cells, is highly significantly increased compared to Insulin, IGF-1.
Applications
LR3 IGF-1 has a wide range of applications. Cells cultured with Insulin and IGF- can be cultured with LR3 IGF-1. For example, CHO, BHK, HEK293, Vero, PER.C6, MDCK, etc. can be cultured with LR3 IGF-1.
